Packie Bonner launches Portmarnock AFCs new jersey and website!
Former Irish international and Celtic goalkeeper Packie Bonner launched Portmarnock AFCs new jersey and our website at a special reception in Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links in March 2005.
The reception was attended by members of the clubs Management Committee, team managers, sponsors and players. Sponsors who attended included Diesel, ONeills, AIB Grafton Street, Ulster Bank, Joe Kirby Sports, DWC Consulting, Sierra Communications, Web Express 24, Protheus Management and NCL Engineering.
Packie Bonner, now FAI Technical Development Officer, congratulated the club on its new kit and website. He said he was a regular visitor to Portmarnock with the international team and took a keen interest in the clubs affairs.
Club Chairman Colm Kennedy thanked all the sponsors for their support for the club. The backing of sponsors was one of the ingredients for a successful club. He also thanked Packie Bonner for attending the event and said his appearance was a great boost to the younger players present. The club very much appreciated his interest and goodwill over the years.
Colm also said the website would be a great help to the club in its efforts to improve communications with its players, supporters and the community. He looked forward to the development of the site over the coming seasons.
The clubs new jersey was designed by ONeills sports company following consultation with club players and managers. The Chairman said he was confident that the new kit would be very popular with players throughout the club.
Barry Flynn Honoured
One of Portmarnock AFC’s longest serving players, Barry Flynn, was recently presented with a special Statuette to mark his achievement in winning 50 Junior Irish International caps.
The presentation was made to Barry in March 2005 by Club Chairman Colm Kennedy prior to the first team’s Nivea for Men Cup match against Baldoyle United at Paddy’s Hill.
Presenting the bronze Statuette to Barry, Chairman Colm Kennedy said Barry had honoured the club both by his performances for Portmarnock AFC and for his country.
"Barry is the ideal role model for our young players. He always gives 100% to the team and leads by example."
Barry is one of the most distinguished Junior players in the country having captained both Portmarnock and Fairview Rangers of Limerick.

Why not treat yourself to a well deserved day of pure enjoyment? Arrive early and enjoy:
Complementary tea/coffee and scones (to get you psyched up!)
18 holes on a most superb course
Delicious Golfer's Grill on completion

Tee times are available from 9:30am to 3:00pm and will be reserved on a "first come first served" basis. We expect demand to be very high so don't delay, call today.
