West of Ireland Flood Relief – a word of thanks
Two local women, Lorinda Kinnane and Siobhan McCann, reacted to the flooding in Galway by organising a collection of clothing, duvets, sheets, blankets and toiletries to be sent to the flood victims. Below is their note of thanks to all those who responded;
Hi All,
Just sending a mail to say a very big thank you to all those who answered the call sent out last Thursday and Friday for donations to help our neighbours in Galway and surrounding areas affected by the floods. A very big thank you also goes out to those who not only donated but stayed to sort and pack everything we received. We also need to thank separately those who turned up today to help load the truck, including the 6th year students from Portmarnock Secondary School and people on their lunch break from work.
We'd like to particularly mention some businesses who in these hard times dug deep by donating goods that the flood victims will we are sure be delighted to receive, particularly Curtainworld in Baldoyle Industrial Estate, Frank McGowan in Airside Retail Park, EA Delaney in Glasnevin Industrial Estate. A very big and important thank you to Noel Howley, from Noel Howley Distributions, who not only provided the Truck but drove it to Athlone as well.
We got a call from Noel Howley at 4:45pm today to say that all the goods were delivered and the Rapid Relief Centre were delighted with what had been sent.
Thanks Again,
Lorinda Kinnane, 085 760 9618
Siobhan McCann, 087 980 1946
These ladies will be doing more charitable work in the run up to Christmas, so check www.portmarnockafc.com for details on how you can help. Well done to all those involved in any way.

Urgent Notice TO All Club Members
Hi all,
It has been brought to our attention that a male claiming to be an official from the FAI has offered places to children on a training course over the October Bank Holiday weekend or midterm break.
We would like to advise all clubs in the North Dublin Schoolboys/Girls League that these courses do not exist as the FAI has no camps or sessions over the bank holiday or midterm break.
If any members of your club have been offered places in these sessions please contact our Child Welfare Officer Julie Murphy, 087 410 2797
